About Us
Ontario Patient Transfer is a privately operated company providing non-urgent patient transportation and pre-hospital event medical services throughout Ontario.
Our ownership/management team has more than 85 years’ experience in transporting non-urgent, disabled and aged passengers. Our head office is centrally located in downtown Hamilton, with satellite bases in Niagara, Toronto, Whitby, Peterborough, Ottawa and Cornwall.
We provide 24/7 bedside-to-bedside service, both locally and long-distance. All of our vehicles are ambulance-type, and equipped with on-board oxygen, suction, airway management, trauma equipment and defibrillators. Symptom relief medication is also available upon request — certain conditions may apply.
Our continuous quality assurance programs, developed in consultation with our medical director, ensure the highest quality of service and patient care. We coordinate repatriation services with air ambulance companies, providing transportation for patients arriving or departing from Toronto Pearson International, Hamilton's John C. Munro International and Buffalo/Niagara Falls International Airports.
We provide local and long-distance transfers. Our sophisticated, real-time computer mapping, GPS and dispatch software is used for all pre-booked transport reservations and same-day transports. This system allows us to track all aspects of patient scheduling and movement, guaranteeing quality of service for all facilities and clients.
Ontario Patient Transfer is a member of The Chamber of Commerce and a proud founding member of the MTAO (Medical Transportation Association of Ontario). We are the preferred patient transfer provider for many hospitals. Our clients also include retirement homes, long-term care facilities, clinics, hospices, air ambulance and insurance companies.
Our dedicated, experienced management team and certified professional staff are fully prepared to meet the challenges ahead. As we continue to grow, we will meet and exceed the needs of all health care facilities — now, and well into the future.
