Setting the Standard
How does a company meet a standard expected of them in an industry that (for the most part) doesn’t have any? How do you create a company when those standards don’t exist? And how do you set a price that is truly transparent when any level of service can be argued based on price alone?
OPT asked these very questions back in 2005, when it announced the formation of its sister company, Travois Medical Transfer, intended to service Ottawa-area hospitals. Since that time, OPT has mandated a strategy for continual improvement.
How do you meet a standard that doesn’t exist? You create one.
At Ontario Patient Transfer, we hold ourselves to the highest standard of service. Our reputation has been built upon our proven ability to meet and exceed every service standard in the non-emergency patient transfer industry.
In short, OPT is setting the bar for quality patient transfer service in Ontario.
The work we have done with our clients over the years has resulted in hundreds of glowing testimonials. More importantly, we have earned our clients’ trust and continued patronage. We have accomplished this not just through the quality of our staff, transport vehicles and equipment — we have also devoted ourselves to providing our clients with caring, compassionate service in an industry where compassion has yet to become the standard, rather than the exception.
While OPT has campaigned to initiate the creation of a regulatory body in our industry, we have not, to date, received the support necessary to establish such an organization. In the meantime, we operate under the dedicated supervision and direction of an internal Board of Advisors who oversee our operations, advise us on how to improve and modify our policies and procedures, and help us to ensure that our service standards are understood and adhered to by all OPT management and personnel. Our Board of Advisors will also begin developing the formal OPT Self-Regulation Guide in 2010.
OPT is a member in good standing with the Transportation Health & Safety Association of Ontario (THSAO). The THSAO is one of 14 sector-specific workplace associations dedicated to the advancement and promotion of safe workplace practices in businesses across Ontario. As indicated by its name, the THSAO is dedicated primarily to working with companies and personnel in the transportation industry.
Our vehicles and equipment are all compliant with the Ministry of Transportation, Ministry of Health and other government and legislative bodies within Ontario.
